Touchet School District is proud to announce ALL of its FBLA students have advanced to the state competition.
The Touchet FBLA team competed in the regional competition at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, Washington on February 2nd, 2024. They took part in the events they had been studying before the competition and learned of their results from the objective testing, they completed before the event.
Future Business Leaders of America, also known as FBLA, is the largest career and technical student organization in the world. Its mission is to prepare students to excel by starting their own business- or business-related field.
Touchet sent 12 students to the winter conference. They participated in both individual and team competitions ranging from sports management, business law, exploring economics, financial literacy, and business etiquette.
The competition included approximately 300 students from 19 different schools, including College Place, Walla Walla, Kahlotus, White Salmon, Sunnyside, Asotin, Wahluke, Pomeroy, Zillah, Othello and other neighboring schools.
Touchet came away from the competition with 6 first-place wins, and every student placed in the top six of their events. The team consisting of Maddie Short, Emma Niemeyer, and Cooper Pumphrey took the first-place medal in Critical thinking.

Lili Solis a Freshman at Touchet High School placed 3rd in computer application, and 6th in the help desk. Marielle Mendoza and Owen Godinez, juniors at Touchet High School, both placed 4th in sports management, with Owen also taking home 4th place in business law.
Along with her team's win in critical thinking, Maddie Short who is in the eighth grade, also placed 1st in elevator speech, 5th place in running an effective meeting, and 6th place in leadership.

Emma Niemeyer an eighth grader, took 2nd place in Running an effective meeting, and 4th place in learning strategies, to go along with her 1st place win in critical thinking. Along with Cooper Pumphrey also an 8th grader taking 4th place in running an effective meeting, complementing his team's first place win in critical thinking.
Shaylee Butler who is in the seventh grade, took 3rd place in exploring economics, while Piper Carlisle also in seventh grade, placed 5th in exploring economics.
Holly Kolb who is in the seventh grade, came home with the first-place medal for financial literacy.

Chloe Solis who is in the sixth grade, placed 4th in business etiquette, and Kinley Crenshaw also in the 7th grade placed 2nd in FBLA concepts. Aubrey Martinez placed 6th in exploring economics.
Darla Dial, who is in the seventh grade, brought home the first-place medal in interpersonal communications; and 4th place in Exploring Economics.

The Touchet FBLA team has shown exceptional performance at the regional competition, demonstrating their commitment and dedication toward excellence. We are thrilled to see them represent our district at the state level. The team is all set to participate in the State competition that will be held in Spokane from April 24th to 27th.
Our Touchet FBLA team puts in a lot of effort throughout the year to raise funds so they can participate in the regional, state, and national competitions. To help offset the costs associated with the state and national competitions, they will soon be selling Krispy Kreme donuts. Please keep an eye out for Krispy Kreme orders and other ways you can support our team. Your help is highly appreciated.
