Touchet School District has some exciting news to share! We're thrilled to announce that two authors will be visiting our school to share their latest books. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to meet these talented writers and learn from their experiences. We can't wait to see how this will impact our students and their love for reading and writing. Our first author, Janet Breuer, will be visiting this Thursday at 11:45 am to share her book, "Trouble's Defense: The Real Story as Told by the Cat!". Our second author, Patrick Carman, will be here on March 8th at 12:30 to present his new book, "Bonker: The Terror in Jenny's Armpit". Parents are welcome to attend the event and see their children meet these amazing writers!

Redhawk Happenings this week! Spring is in the air as we have wrapped up winter sports, finishing with the girl's middle school sports awards on Thursday. And winter sports pictures taking place on Wednesday. The first boy's high school baseball practice is on Monday. And we have a special guest visitor this week, Janet Breuer the author of "Trouble's Defense". AND Krispy Kreme donuts are officially on sale! Find an FBLA member and get your order in!

Dear Touchet School District Parents and Guardians, At approximately 10: 15 a.m. we were alerted that the domestic water pressure was low. Our operations manager and her team immediately began to troubleshoot the issue. They were able to isolate a broken pipe around the greenhouse area. As of 12:30, the low water pressure issue has not been resolved. Please be assured students have been fed and are safe in our schools. The TSD will continue through the rest of the school day. However, if you wish, you are welcome to come pick up your child. If you do, we ask that you check in with either Darla or Laurie. Otherwise, your child will board their bus at the usual time. (2:40 p.m.) We hope to have the issue resolved by the end of the day. Mr. Elizondo

Thank you to the girls middle school basketball coaches, Touchet PTO, parents, and Brett Weisner of the booster club for making the last home middle school basketball game special for our Lady RedHawks and celebrating our 8th-grade girls!

Kindergarten loves a good “classic” story! Imagine being able to create a hearty and delicious Stone Soup from just a handful of humble stones! Stone Soup is a classic tale teaching the value of community and sharing. After learning about Martin Luther King and his message about treating others the way you want to be treated, Mrs. Warner shared the book Stone Soup, by Marcia Brown, with her captivated kindergarten class! They discussed the story elements (characters, setting, problem, solution). Then mapped the story elements. This also tied into the end of Math Module 3, which focused on measuring, where they discussed volume and capacity. Each student brought an item and helped to prepare the soup. Each classmate promised to taste it. Lastly, they made a vote and made a graph to see if they liked it or not. Every student brought an ingredient and assisted in preparing the soup. All the classmates pledged to try it. Finally, they held a vote and created a graph to determine whether or not they enjoyed it. They all enjoyed the soup in some way, shape, or form. It's incredible to create something out of nothing!

Redhawk Happenings February 19th - 23rd Enjoy the rest of your long weekend with Presidents' Day tomorrow, and on Tuesday let's celebrate our 8th-grade girl athletes in their last home game of the season starting at 4 pm. Steam/Lego Robotics Club will be meeting on Thursday, and this month's school board meeting is taking place on Thursday at 6 pm. Have a great week!

The Touchet School District is currently seeking a Head Coach for the 2024 Golf Team. The appointed candidate will be required to attend all matches and contribute directly to all areas of coaching, including skill development, strength training, technique, and golf knowledge. The Head Coach will be responsible for creating a positive and encouraging environment that inspires the players to do their best and improve their skills. In addition to providing technical guidance, the coach should also be able to communicate effectively with the players to understand their individual needs and motivate them accordingly. Since today marks the 101st day of School, here's a little look at yesterday's 100th-day celebrations! Kinder celebrated with 100 balloons to pop! First grade celebrated with 100 items of their choice! The second grade celebrated with a 100-puzzle piece challenge, and the third grade celebrated by dressing up as 100 yrs. old! Fourth grade celebrated by writing down 100 acts of kindness and 100 things that make them happy! 79 days of school left until SUMMER VACATION!

RedHawk Happenings this week! February 12-16th...We've made it to the 100th day of school! And only a few weeks left to catch some girls middle school basketball action!

A little Recap from Senior Night! In case you missed it, last Friday night we celebrated our seniors in the last home basketball game of the Redhawk Season. Little did Mrs. Reppe know she was going to be celebrated also, as the Redhawks' most senior fan! Congratulations to all our Senior athletes and thank you for all the support over the many years cheering on our teams Mrs. Reppe! And just to get it on your calendars, we will be having the winter sports awards banquet, on Thursday, February 15th, at 6 pm, in the school cafeteria!

ATTENTION SENIORS! Touchet High School Seniors graduating in 2024 and participating in TEF fundraising are eligible to apply for Touchet Educational Foundation Merit scholarships and various named scholarships that may include additional eligibility requirements. The current application packet must be fully completed and returned no later than March 15, 2024 (must be postmarked by 3/15/24). No late applications or hand-delivered materials will be accepted. It's SENIOR RECOGNITION NIGHT! Let's REDOUT the gym (wear red) and support our Redhawks while celebrating our senior athletes! Our Seniors will be selling hot coffee and bags of coffee! And concessions will be selling hamburgers and hot dogs! The cheer squad & Thunder will be helping us cheer our Redhawks on! GO REDHAWKS!

FBLA members are currently attending the winter conference, where they are delivering their oral presentations that they have been working hard on. Later today, they will find out how well they performed on the objective testing they completed a few weeks ago. Keep up the excellent work, Redhawk Students! We are proud of you!

Look who just finished the first week of swim lessons! Kindergarten and first grade are three lessons into becoming more confident, capable swimmers! Thank you to the teachers, volunteers and @wwymca for making this happen!
